Since the VAK University Day 2016, we have been cooperating with the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW Hamburg). This ensures a constant exchange on current research and innovations and also makes it easier to get in touch with young talents. In addition, Prof. Dr. Christoph Großmann from HAW Hamburg acts as a jury member of our VAK Innovation Award
For the VAK and all its member companies, the focus on attracting and fostering young talent is a subject of great importance today.
As part of IFAT, the VAK and trainees from its member companies organise a project to introduce and implement the association’s presence in social media. The trainees independently record short video interviews with members exhibiting at IFAT, cut them and then upload them. They furthermore interview the companies’ managing directors on the topics of IFAT, social media, sustainability as well as training and continuing education – all on their own initiative.
Our trainees are “digital natives” and thus predestined to successfully implement this project due to their special understanding of social networks. You can view, share and like the finished interviews on Facebook and YouTube.
As a highlight of the Truck in Action Show, a cooperation was set up for the first time with the GGAWB (Quality Control Association of Waste and Recycling Containers) at IFAT 2016. The trucks of the working committees for REFUSE COLLECTION VEHICLES and ROLL-OFF TIPPERS, SKIPLOADERS, CONTAINERS and CRANES presented these systems and their practical handling in live demonstrations together with four manufacturers of underground collection containers.
And we were also able to present an underground container system from one of our member companies at the Truck in Action Show:
